Grants

Apply for a grant at DoSER!

DoSER often seeks competitive proposals from universities, seminaries, and communities interested in participating in our project and engaging at the interface of science and faith. These proposals usually include hosting an event (for which the expenses are covered by AAAS) and an educational component, whether that is inclusion of peer-reviewed research in the classroom, workshops on science communication hosted by DoSER, panel presentations, posters, or other forms of engagement.

AAAS DoSER partnered with six institutions across the U.S. as part of its “Engaging Scientists in the Science and Religion Dialogue” project. These institutions hosted:

  • Campus events that were free and open to the public that included a guest speaker/speaker series on science engagement with religious and spiritual publics
  • Public engagement contests recognizing ongoing or prospective science engagement with diverse communities.
  • Workshops focused on engagement with religious publics but with relevance to public science engagement in general

The goal of the workshops and other activities was to assist scientists interested in more effective science engagement with the diverse audiences in their spheres of influence. Learn more here.
