In this video, I am going to walk you through how to navigate the resources available on the AAAS DoSER website and how to use the Curriculum Builder function.

This is the home page for DoSER.

You can access the resources from the menu bar on the top of the screen; if you do not see the menu options you should be able to access the menu in the upper right-hand corner of the website. Click on “Resource Center”.

On this landing page, you see a list of commonly asked questions.

When you scroll down, you can see all of our other resources available.

You can use the search bar at the top to enter any queries you have, or you can use the filters on the left-hand side.

Our website allows you to filter by topic, such as “Physics and Cosmos”, “Neuroscience and Psychology”, etc. You can also filter “By Faith Tradition”, “By Resource Type”, and “By Audience”.

For example, if you are looking for videos to show your class, then you would select “Video”. Under “Syllabi”, you will find seminary courses that have incorporated science into the curriculum as part of the AAAS DoSER Science for Seminaries grant.

You can select multiple filters to narrow down your search. For example, let’s say that I am looking for resources on evolution and the environment. I can use the Curriculum Builder tool on the DoSER website to consolidate the resources that I want and to share them. To do this, I would select the relevant filters- “Environmental Science” and “Evolution and Life Sciences” under “Topic” and “Video” under “Resource Type”. Click “Apply”.

This will bring you to a new page with all of the resources that DoSER has for you.

If you click on the link, you can go watch the video. Transcripts are also available for the videos- in the bottom right corner of video, click on the little blue arrow to expand the transcript, available in English and Spanish.

Now, say I really like this video and I want to remember it. I can click the save bookmark here on the right side of the web page. This will save the video to your own personal library of saved resources.

You can go back and continue looking at your filtered search results. If you see another resource you want to save, you can also click the small blue bookmark, where it says save, and to add it to your collection.

Once you are satisfied with your collection, if you look under the filters on the left-hand side, you will see a new button called “Saved Resources”. You can also see how many resources you have saved by looking at the upper right-hand corner of the menu. This will have consolidated all of the resources that you have bookmarked.

You can click “Share List” to email the resource collection to yourself or to a friend. Create a title for your list, add your name, and provide your email. You can also add more information to help you remember what you have selected or give more context to the person you are sharing the list with.

Once you click “Share My List”, you will receive an email from AAAS – DoSER, and the email address is noreply@sciencereligiondialogue.org. Be sure to check your spam box if it is not in your inbox.

The email will have a personalized link that you can use to access your curated collection of resources. And a list of the resources with links to them individually. You will also receive the link to download the resources as PDF files.

Keep in mind, you can also download the PDF files by clicking “Download Resources” button on the DoSER website.

This personalized link that you received in your email to your collection can be shared with anyone. For example, you can share the link with your students so that they have all of the assigned DoSER resources in one consolidated location.

Once you have shared your resources and received the link to your personalized collection, you can clear the list by clicking the “Clear List” button on the left-hand side and continue to explore more resources and start again!

All of the resources you have collected will be consolidated on that personal link that you have received via email. That link is still valid, even if you generate another batch of saved resources and create another collection of resources- that other collection will have its own unique link.
