Students will explore how historical and cultural context shapes religious experience, in general, and how it shapes ways of being Christian, in particular. Special attention will be given to diversity within the Catholic tradition, the diversity of other Christian confessions (i.e. ecumenism), and the ways in which Christian communities have developed and continue to evolve in interaction and relationship with communities of other religious faiths.
